Unlike many traditional dike tanks, the enclosed containment area helps keep out rainwater, leaves, trash, and other debris while providing an added layer of environmental protection.

What Are Self-Contained Tanks?
Self-contained tanks are above ground storage tanks that combine a primary storage tank with built-in secondary containment. Instead of relying on an open containment area around the tank, the Cleanworld design encloses the containment system within the tank assembly to create one complete, skid-mounted package.
Additionally, the primary storage tank is built to the UL 142 standard, while the enclosed outer containment provides 110% secondary containment if the inner tank leaks or an overfill occurs. At the same time, inspection ports allow operators to monitor the containment area, and atmospheric and emergency venting help the system operate properly.
Additionally, unlike many open secondary containment tanks, the enclosed Cleanworld design helps keep rainwater, dirt, leaves, and other debris out of the containment area. That means less cleanup, easier inspections, and a cleaner system throughout the life of the tank.
Furthermore, every Cleanworld tank also includes our integral overfill diverter system. If an overfill occurs, the diverter directs product into the enclosed containment area instead of allowing it to spill onto the ground. The recovered product remains inside the containment system where it can be evaluated and handled appropriately.
Although the integral diverter adds another level of protection, it does not replace properly selected mechanical overfill prevention equipment. Many applications use both systems together as part of a complete fuel storage solution.
