Above Ground Self Contained Storage Tanks

Above ground self contained storage tanks feature a “tank within a tank” design. A UL 142 single wall tank is self contained within a secondary dike. These tanks comply with EPA 40 CFR 112, NFPA 30 codes for primary and secondary containment, along with SPCC plan requirements.

Application

Sizes of our self contained storage tanks range from 250 gallons to 30,000 gallons, in both single and multiple compartment systems. They can be constructed of mild carbon steel or stainless steel. Interior coatings are available when additional corrosion resistance is needed. Exteriors come standard with red oxide primer. We have a selection of colors customers can choose from if a painted topcoat is desired. We offer a full line of safety accessories, such as stairs and ladders for our storage tanks. We have many options for spill prevention. Tank equipment packages are available for customers who prefer a turn key job. With this option, pumps and equipment are pre-mounted to the tank and plumbing is pre-installed prior to shipment. Our self contained storage tanks are suitable for the storage of a variety of products including gasoline, diesel fuels, antifreeze, oils, lubricants, waste oil, biodiesel, chemicals, water storage and more.

Cost Savings

Self contained storage tanks, being designed as one unit, are easy to relocate and install, saving time and costs. The self contained design provides an interstitial space between the inner tank and secondary containment. With this enclosed, rain-shielded design, there is no constant rainwater and debris collection in the secondary containment. Not only is this a much cleaner application, but it also provides cost savings for the tank owner. Less time is consumed in maintenance and there is no need for continuous disposal of collected contaminated water. The interstitial space between the outer wall and the inner tank of our self contained storage tanks can serve as a collision protection zone, protecting the inner tank from damages from impact. This product often cost less than a comparable double wall tank.

Spill Prevention

Due to increasing environmental policies, spillage prevention is of great importance. Did you know that more than 90% of spillage from above ground storage tanks is due to overfills? Our self contained storage tanks are designed to reduce overfills. Overfill alarms are mechanical devices, powered by batteries, which periodically need changing. People will often fail to do so. Mechanical devices, such as overfill alarms and overfill prevention valves can fail, due to wear and corrosion. The design of our self contained storage tanks provides additional protection. Any potential leakage or overfills that may occur in our self contained storage tanks are captured in the sealed interstitial space between the inner tank and outer wall. The product is not contaminated and can be retrieved.
